South Africa 2:0 Against Angola| Sports by Staff Reporter
Super Win for the Home Team in the Africa Cup of Nations
South Africa kicked their Africa Cup of Nations bid into gear on Wednesday as they outplayed Angola to win by two goals to nil at the Moses Mabhida stadium, Durban.
Excellent performances by Lehlohonolo Majola, Siyabonga Sangweni, Dean Furlong, Bernard Parker and goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, amongst others, provided glimpses of the long unrealised potential of the young South African team.
Bafana took the lead in the 21st minute after a goal by Sangweni.
Majola beat two defenders and the Angolan goalkeeper, Joao Lama, to make it 2-0 in the 62nd minute.
Angola seemed to be outclassed, not only in midfield, but also in defense, against the sustained Bafana attack.
Coach Gordon Igesund was pleased with the result, having been active with advice on the sidelines, although he was outdone in this respect by an effusive Angolan coach.
South Africa now lead Pool A with 4 points.
