Barack Obama, the incumbent US president, has won a second term of four years in the US Presidential election.


Barack Obama, the incumbent US president, has won a second term of four years in the US Presidential election.

Obama, a Democrat, beat his opponent, Mitt Romney of the Republican Party, who today conceded the election after Obama received more than 270 votes from the Electoral College.

It is widely acknowledged that the President faces numerous challenges in his second term of office including a stubbornly sluggish economy, slow global growth prospects and a looming fiscal cliff.
