CT Stadium's 'Loose Roof'| News by Staff Reporter
The Cape Town Stadium has sections of its roof coming loose
Cape Town – The Cape Town Stadium reportedly has sections of its roof coming loose even though it was designed to withstand the city’s strong south-easterly winds.
The City is to launch a probe, at the cost of R1-million, to investigate how “bolt failure” at the stadium is being caused.
A routine inspection last year revealed that a few bolts in the stadium roof had failed, according to the Cape Times.
Grant Pascoe, the mayoral committee member responsible for the stadium, said the city was waiting for the final report from the professional team.
Over the last financial year the stadium has cost ratepayers in the region of R44,6-million.
