An American citizen gone missing in Thailand

The Hangover Part 2 (2011) is the long awaited sequel to the 2009 smash hit comedy The Hangover.

The gang is back and this time its Stu’s (Ed Helms) turn to get married, but unfortunately – and not surprisingly – Stu wants nothing to do with a bachelor party.

Stu is about to marry the girl of his dreams and the wedding is set to take place in Bangkok in front of her Taiwanese family.

Stu’s friend Phil (Bradley Cooper) is completely upset that there is no bachelor party but Alan (Zach Galifianakis), Doug’s (from the first film) brother-in-law, is beside himself and (surprisingly) shocked that he wasn’t even invited to the wedding.

With enough begging though Alan finally gets what he wants, but little do the gang know that Phil is about to get what he wants too.

As there is no bachelor party the guys, together with Stu’s future brother-in-law Teddy, decide to hang out and RELAX on the beach together the night before the wedding.

When the gang wakes up the next morning they find themselves in a run-down hotel in the middle of Bangkok, Alan is bald, Stu has a tattoo on his face and Teddy is missing.

And of course they are all hungover and have no recollection of what took place the previous night.

So now it’s up to the wolf pack to team up and search for Teddy in a city they don’t know, or face the alternative: explain to Stu’s future wife and in-laws why Teddy is gone.

As you can imagine the guys get thrown into all sorts of crazy situations along the way and find out all the ridiculous things they got up to the night before.

This movie is a hilarious roller-coaster ride from start to finish and is actually a good sequel to a first hit movie, which is a rarity in Hollywood.

The only criticism I can level at this film is that its entire premise is almost identical to the first; one of the gang is getting married, they somehow get drugged and on the next day they have no memory of what happened the previous night and someone is missing. And Doug (Justin Bartha) barely even features.

The only thing that’s different in this movie is the location, yet the movie is still extremely funny and is a must-see for all fans of the first film or for anyone looking to watch a good comedy.
