Alli to Stay Sanral CEO| News by Staff ReporterNazir Alli will remain CEO of the SA National Roads Agency Sanral CEO Nazir Alli, who resigned from his position last month, would remain CEO of the agency, according to Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe.Nazir Alli resigned as CEO of the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) last month stating that it was his belief that he was not contributing to solving the agency’s problems. The agency then appointed Engineering Executive Koos Smit as Acting CEO while the Board began its recruitment process for a new CEO. However, speaking at a media briefing on Thursday Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe said Mr Alli was to “stay put” in his role and that there would be “no search for a new CEO.” He said that while he had received Alli’s letter of resignation government did not feel that the problems revolved around him, “So there was an understanding he stays put,” said Mr Motlanthe. There would still be a formal enquiry by the Board on the matter. Source: www.bizpremises.co.za |
