200,000 New Homes Planned for Cape Town| News by Staff Reporter
Wescape will be a new housing development situated along the West Coast Growth Corridor between Atlantis and Melkbosstrand in Cape Town.
Conceived by Bellandia and partners, the envisioned new development will encompass more than 3,000 hectares of land and provide housing for approximately 800,000 residents, along with light industry, commercial and retail developments.
The development will include parks, fields, sports complexes, hospitals and community services, primary and high schools and colleges and even a new university.
Wescape is the pilot project of the CommuniTgrow collective, a regenerative ecology initiative designed to deliver large-scale projects which maximise the potential of African communities.
Cape Town currently has an estimated housing backlog of almost half-a-million units.
Environmental and impact assessment studies are currently underway for the proposed Wescape project.
